I have always liked the variations found in indian corn and have wanted to make a desktop wallpaper of some for a while. I finally got the chance to take a couple of shots of some that was at my sister's house when I was visiting her in North Carolina last November.

It most certainly makes a nice wallpaper for the DT. I like the definition of each individual kernel as well as the warm colors. Wonderful close-up Tom. Saved.

You sure have brought out the detail in the kernels of the corn. They almost look like polished stones. Excellent image for a DT.

Very effective use of depth and exposure. Love the details. You don't see the amazing color and design of corn unless you get in close. Nicely done. anne :-)

Tell me if you like it or don't but be sure to tell me why! I promise to always give honest and sincere (albeit gentle when necessary) critiques. MY NEW YEARS TIP for all, go have some fun with your new gear you got for Christmas. Do some things you rarely or never do. If you always shoot scenics, go shoot macros (or as close up as you can get.) Practice on different subjects, try new lighting techniques, bracket your shots (shoot the same image at different exposures and different apertures), get down low and shoot from your back, your belly, and your knees. Bend, twist, lean and climb up on things. Shoot toward the sky (carefully - blown out sunlight is NOT attractive :-) Just do something different and amaze yourself then share with us :-) Love you Caedians.

What an outstanding photo!!! The colours remind me of the many kinds of wood there are. These little 'pearls' of corn also remind me of the 'cats eye marbles' I love the macro you took of this. You are right, the variations in the colours are just fantastic. A most unique desktop idea. Very very nice!! Verena
