This was one of the first trails I hiked back in May at Pickett State Park in Tennessee. The trail gets its name because it goes through an abandoned, partly completed railroad tunnel. The view shown is near the top of the trail as it works its way across a cliff face. The hike was an adventure. The tunnel was longer than we were expecting -- and very dark. Fortunately one person had a flashlight. The bridge for the first river crossing would require tightrope walking skills, so we hoped stones (and I fell in anyway). Another river crossing required walking along a fallen tree that didn't quite reach the other bank (very bouncy). Then there was the crossing that required wading the river. It was a blast. Oh, did I mentioned we got turned around and ended up in the wrong place? Can't wait to hike it again next year and see where the other end goes.
