I am fairly certain they are Elder flowers - go back later for the berries and you can make some wine :) I have a couple of these in my garden (have never used the berries though) They grow very quickly. We have just had to get someone with better climbing skills than us and a good electric trimmer to cut them to a reasonable height. This makes a very nice picture and you are quite right in the resemblance to snow drifts.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
