The magnolia grandifloria with their dazzling southern belle skirts are still a month to 6 weeks off where I live, but the flirty little yuliania mags are out not only ahead of their big sisters but also ahead of most of their own leaves, fluffing their tepals and unfurling their petals in the still gentle sun -- the stars, the saucers, the yellow lanterns, and here, an ivory chalice. This was a little before 7:30 this morning, so you see her politely patting away a stifled yawn. 1/160s @ f/11, ISO 200.

Oh so pretty!! Nice, crisp focus and excellent placement in frame. Contrast is spot on as well. Great job!

From quiet homes and first beginning, Out to the undiscovered ends, There's nothing worth the wear of winning, But laughter and the love of friends.

Creative narrative as well as creative presentation. And, I totally agree with GreenLass! I look forward to shots of the grandifloria.

Nice shot, like the composition and soft lighting. I think I might have removed the two light spots around the one petal. jmo. A fine photograph none the less.

NO NO NO NO NO...she's perfect just the way she is. I'm sorry to disagree with my good friend above, but I love this, and everything about it is so sensual and perfect. I saved it, so go at it if you must, but this is truly divine!

We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"

Another beautiful bloom. You have a real eye for composition, Leslie. Thanks for posting this. Cute personification in the description...
