The Old Harbor Life Saving Station located at Race Point in Provincetown MA.USA. Such stations along the Cape are said to have saved over 100,000 lives through the years. The web page included in the link above has a map of the many scores of shipwrecks on the cape. There were also shacks filled with provisions for survivors who washed ashore.

I have to say this is a brilliant capture, the details, clarity and light give one the sensation of not only being there, but makes it somehow even better than viewing in person, if you can understand me. Bravo.

Paul, I've viewed your very fine photograph, have read your narrative, and have checked-out the by you given link. It provided me with very much interesting and detailed maritime related information. Thanks for that.
In one of my previous comments I've said that Cape Cod's coastline from Chatham to Provincetown has been called an 'Ocean Graveyard', due to its dangerously hidden and constantly moving shoals located just off-shore, containing over 3,000 shipwrecks, so the spot of this life saving station is very well chosen!

If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins! Please CLICK HERE to see my journal! Feel free to save my images or to add them to your favorites.

Love the dof, the coloring, the sky, and those floating by clouds.
