A good view looking up at this bird. His irridescent colour is eye catching. He appears well fed balancing on that limb. All looks striking against the clear blue sky. Very well presented image Colleen :)

Hi Colleeen, great shot of this wonderful bird - I wish my kowhai tree would attract one :) We have had a bellbird visit recently but it is too evasive and my reflexes are too slow.
I look forward to some shots of your beautiful area. Has been a couple of years since we were over that way - and we struck floods, it must have been around january as I remember the Kumara races were on. You have some of the most fantastic scenery.
