I can't help but reflect, in admiration, on the folks who fed their families, all meals, every day, from a kitchen such as this. So much work. And when done, there was all that laundry to be processed :)

Great composition and light in your image, Quiet AND it's as sharp as a tack! It must have been exhausting to keep that stove alight. Good bit of social history. I like this one.

And.....they didn't complain about it! lol Great nostalgic shot. I can remember my gram's stove was something like this. I like the light coming in the window and the view of the yard.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I like the contrasts between what we see in the room with what we see through the window. It is a constrast of colors, of textures, of light, and of course, time.

I want that griddle...lol... I used cast iron and I can't find a decent griddle anywhere..maybe an antique store? You've done us all a great favor by capturing this slice of life gone by. We may complain about this and that when it comes to kitchens nowadays, but I bet that stove has seen a lot of use.

indeed.this picture is a worthy historical document.a well-composed interior the like of which are not often seen on caedes.we take so much for granted in our so-called advanced society that it's useful to pause and reflect on how things were.are all these changes 4 the better?we certainly have an easier lifestyle but are we truly better off?thanks for your post and description;interesting as always.regards,simon.
