With the dark soil as background the dahlias in the sunlight look as though they have been lit up by a searchlight.

Beautiful image! I too love the way they hang out of the frame, that way it looks as if they are trying to come out of the pic!
The dark background makes the colors come out even better! Only I think this pic would have looked even better if the dark part on the left side would have been a thiny bit smaller. But that's only my opinion!
