This young Mara was used to people although normally they avoid humans. These large relatives of guinea pigs are common in the Patagonian steppes of Argentina but live in other areas of South America as well such as Paraguay. Maras are the fourth largest rodent in the world, after capybaras, beavers, and porcupines, reaching about 45 cm (18 in) in height.

A pretty face is fine but what a farmer needs is a woman that can carry a pig under each arm

I thought he resembled a bunny rabbit. He is nicely spotlighted by centering him amidst all that green grass.

Raj - Thank you - I learned something new about an unusual animal. It does look like a long-legged rabbit. This one appears to be content sitting on the grass being photographed. Thad

To me, it looks like a rabbit, a donkey, and a kangaroo all combined into one. I never would have guessed it is related to a guinea pig. He's a cute little guy isn't he? Very nice, Raj.
