I agree it looks like a Greenfinch - male, the females are less colourful. A great capture of him Raj and he does look very happy on the pencil which is a great contrasting colour.

I never thought of extending the perch with a pencil! I will have to do that to my bird feeder. Excellent shot of the purdy birdy, Raj. He is probably happy because he is eating! Who isn't? LOL.
It IS a greenfinch, to be precise it's a European greenfinch (Chloris chloris). One of the first birds that let us up here in north know that spring is coming. Beautiful shot. :) //Jan
