Although I think that you're right, Raj, there's perhaps another reason. I see the same behaviour of blackbirds in the garden of my wife. The parent blackbirds that are born there and are searching now for food now for their 'kids' aren't shy at all. They accept my presence till (aprox.) a distance of 2 metres.
