Four days ago a zoo attendant at the zoo in Cologne was killed by one of such Amur (Siberian) tigers. She was 43 years old and an experienced attendant. She had got the tigers into the safety area for cleaning the grounds but did not close the door properly. While she was cleaning outside one tiger escaped, attacked and killed her.

Heard about that on the television!....Just goes to show, you always have to be wary of a dangerous animal..no matter how lovely or cute they are!

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Such a tragedy.

It is a beautiful animal, and I like they way you captured it behind the plants.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

What a terrible thing to have happen. That is very sad! Great looking shot, though, of the tiger, Raj.

A very sad story. I'm sure that this poor lady really loved these animals. A great capture of a beautiful creature Raj, I like the way that you've caught it walking away.

This is well captured with the plants in the foreground. Just one slip of something that gets done daily, can lead to tragedy. I'm sure she loved her job, and the animals, it's a sad thing for both her, and the tiger. Tigs♥ =^..^=

How sad, Raj. You shot seems to show the tiger in mourning as it walks away.

A sad story indeed Raj. While I am sad at the loss of human life , we should all remember that these are wild animals. I do not agree with destroying the Cat. He did what Cats do .
Tragedy all the way around.
This is a great capture.

Oh, sad. I wonder why they do attack. I am sure he wasn't provoked. Maybe it comes of the tension of being in confinement all the time.
