The Mara is a relative of the large guinea pigs. They are found mostly in South America (Patagonia). The adults are as big as a dachshund.

Such a cute little creature! Your capture of it is wonderful Raj. It's so great to see something like this that I've never seen before. I wonder if they're as abundant in Patagonia as deer are here in Wisconsin, USA.
