The geese tolerate the black swan among them. They better, because he is bigger and stronger than any of them.

It's a lovely pastoral shot Raj. I can't speak for the Geese, but I've watched Crows gang up on a Owl two to three times their size, to drive it out of their nesting sites. Of course, the Owl was eating their eggs :-)

I have watched the swans and the geese interact at Atascadero Lake. Swans are definitely the dominant waterfowl on the lake. The swans around here are white though although I don't think it's a socioeconomic thing.

It's a beautiful scene. Great place for a picnic although you have to watch where you walk and sit when you're around geese. Their digestive systems can really make things slippery.

Axle grease doesn't have a thing on goose crap, Raj.

Looks like someone has been feeding them and they are gobbling up the food.

Well composed scene and it is clear the "Big Fella," is in charge.

Looks like the black swan is getting ready to ruffle its feathers. I know swans can be very territorial at times, but the geese to be doing well on their own. Wonderful capture, Raj. Love the detail.

Swans can be very agressive - not just to other birds but to humans also so those geese are wise to tolerate the big black intruder !

A nice scene of these busy birds Raj.
