I did the right-hand side around the burrow (and quickly).. did not do the right-hand side. Just to illustrate the impact of removing or mitigating the over-exposed grass/material that was at the top of the burrow.

My own personal take?
Eyes on the prize, more so. And with the clarity and focus you achieved.. the eyes of the prairie dog as still enough of a draw to not let the body overwhelm the image.
