First shot this spring season. This photo was taken yesterday. Also this is my first shot with the Nikkor 1:1.8 lens.

If anyone is interested here are the settings : Nikon D5200 lens Nikkor1:1.8 ISO 100 F4.5 1/200 sec. Focus on AFS

I find that this lens is good not only for portraits but also for landscapes.

I don't know about the settings, but the shot is gorgeous, Raj.

It's good..A prime lens will always win in the sharpness stakes and lose in the versatility...Nice image..You will find this lens will be at it's peak between f/8 and f/11....R.

Congrats with your new lens Raj!

Thanks for the exif data, as they are always interesting to me.

Very promising result, as the details very clear and the tones are natural and very fine. The composition is prefect and done by a skilled photographer! So in brief: very well done, my friend.

PS: Richie is a specialist, and I agree with him. If this lens has a VR feature, you may lengthen the exposure time by one or two stop(s) to achieve a higher aperture number for the most optimal result. Just an advice, and ignore it when it's not suitable!

As to technicality of focus and other stuff my comment is "????" LOL
As to your attempt to deceive the public here that it is warm, you failed as I see people [hiding amongst almost bare bush branches] dressed nearly like half of the undersigned team = suitable for winter ! LOL
Seriously - lovely and elevating for the soul with all the sunshine and [ever]greens !
Quality - perfect!

Very nice, Raj. It's always fun with a new lens, especially when you have this kind of subject material.

Congrats on the purchase Raj, I too find it a good lens, not only for portraits, but other subjects as well. Have fun, and I think you did a good job here. I had to chuckle a little at Sam's comment. :) tigs=^..^=

It is a great lens Raj. I have one but it does not have the VR.
I don't use it nearly enough. I bought it for basketball games because of the poor lighting, but found I missed the zoom.
Great first shot by the way.

A great first shot (across the boughs, :)) with your new lens, Raj. A lovely looking scene with good lighting, colours, and clarity.
