The statue here is that of Schauenburger Graf (Count) Adolf III , the founder of the old and new Hamburg. This photo was taken against strong light.

AT full size he looks a bit 'Romanesque' ..

A good frontal shot captured well with the surrounding architecture

In spite of the difficult lighting conditions, you've provided us a fine and impressive addition to this series, Raj.
See that the 'graffiti artist RKJ' has place his/her initials on the pedestal. Wish that he/she had more respect for the historical heritage.
