In summer months the "Mississippi Queen" is busy carrying tourists up and down the river Elbe. This photo was taken on May 11th. Here she is on the way to pick up passengers.
Raj, hope that a Dixieland / Jazz band is playing on the Mississippi Queen to create an appropriate atmosphere, ☺ . Good capture of this floating 'piece' of nostalgia!

Someone named Raj posted this very shot of Facebook. I like it just as much now as I did then. Having ridden the Mississippi Queen and other steam paddleboats up and down the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers, this shot brings back good memories.
Dorothy Michaels: No, just Dorothy. Alan's always Alan, Tom's always Tom and John's always John. I have a name too. It's Dorothy, capital D-O-R-O-T-H-Y.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
The beautiful old showboats are so much fun to ride on & listen to the paddle wheel & water. I was on one a few time in Kentucky, it was called the Belle of Louisville
