The bright pink color of flamingos comes from beta carotene, a red-orange pigment that's found in high numbers within the algae, larvae, and brine shrimp that flamingos eat in their wetland environment.
Raj, humans also consume beta carotene. It's the substance that turns carrots, oranges, apricots and nectarines orange. But not in the amounts that it makes us red in the face, other than from excitement or something like that, 😁 ! Nice shot of this group of flamingos, especially because of the contrasting color of the background.
