This was taken at the Temple of Horus at Edfu, Egypt. I decided to leave the person in at the bottom right corner to give a little perspective.

It's amazing there is so much preserved here, but I guess the Egyptians were known for that sort of thing :) I suppose the dry air helps too. You capture is interesting to me and I think it would make a great desktop for anyone who likes to look to the past .. :)PJ

Great capture, and you made the right choice leaving in the person in this instance I think. Would have been hard to imagine the real size of it without something for reference. Thanks for sharing it!

Great shot, and I agree about the person giving the engraving size perspective. Also I think your shot is historically interesting too: The female figure, wearing the Pharoah's crown, is probably Queen Hatshepsut. She was supposed to act as regent to her under-age son, Thutmose III, but bestowed the title of Pharoah on herself. After her death, her son literally defaced every carved depiction of her as an act of revenge. So much for mother - son love!
