These two megaliths are part of a giant, ancient stone circle that cuts through the village of Avebury near Marlborough in the UK. If you care to look it up on the internet it's a very interesting place.

Well, I took your advice, Ray and looked this up on the internet and what a fascinating place. I had the sneaking suspicion that it was close to Stonehenge, but not so close as to be any competition in the days when people moved about a lot more slowly than they do now. Thanks for posting this and expanding my knowledge..nicely captured.

Fantastic shot, we got to Stonehenge but not to Avebury and I still regret that, will have to get back down that end one day. Thanks for sharing this lovely shot.
