Here is an example of the Nile meeting the Sahara. The fertile lands alongside the river come to an abrupt halt in almost a straight line. The photo was taken at around six in the morning. The sun had been over the horizon for only a few minutes, giving a red glow to the mountains in which lay the Valley Of The Kings which we were about to fly over in a hot air balloon.

Well that must have been a awesome experiance to fly in a hot air balloon over the sandy valley of the kings ! great that you have shared this image, i hope there are more to come.

Totally awesome shot (not to steal Han's thunder). What a way to start a day. It's amazing to see the sharp distinction that the water creates in the desert like this. I love the contrasts, and you could only see this by being in the air, such as you were here...thanks :)

I just don't understand the rating system on here. It says you have a 56, and this should be much, much higher. In my opinion, this is a fantastic shot, very well composed. Good job.
