Going to be bold here, hope you don't mind.
As a suggestion, try more natural lighting. And perhaps then, you can avoid having to use your camera's flash.
Which, in turn, over-exposed some of your very, very ... cute puppy's here ... hair.
The end result, in my humble opinion of course ... would be less harsher lighting and more complimentary.

Oh how sweet and such an adorable little puppy, I just gave you a high score in VB. I know sometimes pets don't get the best scores so I always support the pet owners when I see them.

We had a Westie puppy last year - I remember those days of a pint sized pup. Happy memories (I'm blocking the house training from my mind though).
