The Moorish builders of this beautiful complex (lots of gardens and a series of buildings) wished to make, on earth, the closest image of paradise. Garden-wise, at least, I'd say they've succeeded! I'll post some more in near future.

Dear Friend

Everything one wants .. is in this picture.. Clarity, Textures, Colours, the mirror image on the water, the angle you've used here, the fine detail of the arches.. I can just say.. WOW.. EXCELLENT..

Great symmetry in this one. I love the mirror look in the water. Just a wonderful image, Bram.

The symmetry within these structures is near perfect. Your shooting position, however, didn't take advantage of it. You must have been just a foot or so to the right. Placing yourself dead-center in the middle of the pool's end, even going so far as to measure it with a tape, would have changed this from a very good photo (I gave it a 7 in the booth) to a great photo. I would even say that this one would have benefitted from a number of visits throughout the day, to catch the light at various stages, and to choose times when the visitors were absent. If I have the time, I will sometimes spend the better part of a day, or a couple days, shooting just one scene. Imagine the dazzling contrast, utilizing the history brush in Photoshop, of placing a daylight image of a structure within the background and sky of early morning, evening, or that of an approaching storm. Eerie, creepy, medieval (place your favorite adjective here _____________), etc.

Dear Iloridaa,

Thank you very very much for your valuable advices re "Alhambra". You are absolutely right about the time one has to spend to get a perfect shot. I certainly will try my best to keep in mind the very good points you've raised. I hope my amateurish skills will be brushed up a bit!
Yet, I have to also point out that with my wife and children around (and impatient -see my comments on my photo "Man and Serpent") it's a monumental task to give my hobby any more time that they can sustain!
Re PhotoShop works on the images, again I thank you for your precious advice. There, too, I'm only learning!
