We usually view the sunset from underneath the clouds (if cloudy, of course!). This one is from above! You can see a portion of the engine in the lower right corner. Later, when I looked again at this pic, I was even more surprised at the fact that there seems to be two layers of clouds, one above and one below! Forgive my ignorance but I never knew they could have such formations up in the sky. Maybe Don could shed some light on this!

Very dramatic shot. The golden rays of the sun touching the puffy, bumpy and lumpy cloud tops are fantastic!..Excellent!

I don't think anyone will ever be able to top this sunset picture. To say it's spectacular is an understatement. I would give this a 20 in VB if it were possible. It takes my breath away. Congratulations on a glorious shot, Bram. I faved this one.

This is an amazing shot of this cloud formation. With that sun shining through the cloud it makes a very dramatic scene indeed!

An excellent picture and not easy to take on an aircraft.

Star clouds I understand, but the meteorological variety I only have a rudimentary knowledge. This is one of those special rewards when that make me miss the cockpit. Superb capture, my man.

Nice view of the layers above the Earth as we don't see while standing here on the ground. Thats what I find more captivating than anything else in the shot, except for those clouds of course. The Troposphere is the closest to the Earth this is where all the weather happens. It looks like airplanes fly just above that in the Stratosphere.
Maybe your shot holds more info. than you ever thought! It's a nice look at a tiny portion of the Earth's Atmosphere!
