Itīs winter here in Sweden now, so I have to have my flowers in pots on the windowsill. Here is one of the flowers that brightens the dark November days for me now. Hope you will enjoy the Crab Cactus flower too :-) NOTE: In Sweden we have a saying that goes like this īA child that is loved, has got many names`, and that seams to be the case here too :-). I looked it up on Wikipedia and itīs called "Holliday cactus", Christmas cactus", "Easter cactus", "Crab Cactus" etc. -They are composed of several closely related species in the genus Schlumbergera (often called "Zygocactus" in older works)- Anyway, it is a beautiful flower, that brightens up the dark days of November for me, and I hope for you too :-)

I swear this looks just like a plant I know as a "Christmas Cactus"... Would love to see a shot of the plant itself. Very pretty! ~Mary~

Mary and I are thinking the same thing. That's exactly what it looks like to me and it certainly is a beauty. Nice lighting here as well.

I think itīs two different names for the same cactus flower.
In sweden this one is called "November cactus". I īgoogled`it and it was translated to english as "Crab Cactus". There was a photo of it too, and it looked like my flower. Anybody know more about this? Please tell me about it.

Is it a Christmas cactus? I think that's what we call them. Beautiful against the black background.

Precisely the flower I photographed today, Susanne! I'll save it for another time. This one looks a lot like mine, but the background is a different color. This one is gorgeous, of course!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
