I really do like pictures of fences and gates. I too have taken many pictures of both. I do not know completely why I do like them. Maybe I see more than I should when I look at at them and wonder what is so special on the otherside that it was necessary to erect a barrier between me and it. Maybe it's just curiosity. I know I would like to see what lies beyond your gate! Well done and favd, Susanne.
I think the combination of the old gate and the snow really gives the whole scene a sense of stillness...as if winter has brought a stop to everything...beautiful colors and shadows and very striking with the snow on those dark branches...great job, Susanne.
Well this one was sure easy to get a title for!..lol..Beautiful capture Susanne!! Perfect focus and lighting and just about everything else girl!

Your blues are great once again mixed in with the light and shadows Susanne. The old wooden gate really adds character to this scene as well. I love the shape of the tree. Good winter post.
This is stunning...What I really, really like about it is the way you have made a shadowy picture seem bright...perhaps it is the use of that bright patches of snow in the foreground and again in the background. Gates are intriguing... what are they keeping in, or keeping out? And I know of one creature (a deer?) whose footprints tell me that the gate, for him, is only decorative!
I only see the animal tracks in the snow, and I want to walk into the beautiful oak forest and see where the tracks go.
Beautiful shot Susanne!!

Very beautiful winter capture. It amazes me to see so much snow!! It is in the middle of a very hot summer here. Not that we get that much snow in winter, anyway!!
