Today we had wonderful spring weather so I took my car and went to the bird lake ´Tysslingen` only 20 km from where I live. Thousands of Whooper Swans make a stopover here every spring before they proceed to the north of Sweden where they nest. Not only swans come here but also Canada Geese and Greylag geese. This is a Canada goose taking a nap in the warm sunny weather

All comments are most wellcome. I thank you in advance for taking the time. Always greatly appreciated!

I imagine the early goose get the top nesting spots Susanne. Such a nice capture and it looks like it is ready to hatch some eggs. Glad spring is finding you. It is getting closer in my part of the world as well. Nice post.

I did the same thing today, but still too early here for the waterfowl's return ... saw a few though. Excellent detail in the goose's feathers ... perhaps she may be nesting as well. Love the grassy textures too. Wonderful post Susanne.

Awwww this Goose looks so at warm and at peace. But those ganders can bite. I had one bite me when I was just a little girl in Gremany, and see? I still remember it! So don't get too close to these ol' guys. Nice photo tho. Verena
