Hepatica is normaly blue, but there are variations in color. I found these red ones and thaught I would share them with you. Hope you enjoy!

NOTE: They are really purple but they are called red for some reason.

Camera: Canon 450D

Lens: Canon EF 28-200 mm f/3.5-5.6 USM

Editing software: Adobe Photoshop CS3

They probably can be red or blue or purple depending on the acidity of the soil. I love the white stamens on these. It's always so exciting to find wild flowers and these are lovely and I'll bet very small.

Well, Susanne, on my screen it IS purple...I love how precious it is. SO tiny..and those shadows you got are wonderful. I also like how we can still see the forest floor. I wonder just how small this plant is. I imagine you really enjoyed spotting this little treasure. Nice photo. Verena
