The main building is built in the eighteenth century and was used as the home for a farmer family. It was sold and moved to this location in 1938 when the local history society started this museum. The small building with the grass roof is an old smithy. There is also an old shoemaker's workshop located here. You can see a part of it to the left behind the main building. There are many activities here, like workshops, cafeteria and celebrations of various kinds.

It looks so quiet and peaceful. I would like a room on the first floor. A room with windows so that I could daydream out and into this idyllic and charming place.

Do they have to mow the roof all the time? LOL. This shot makes me want to check to see if there are any museums like that around here. Very nice shot of that old down home scene.

Great angle you chose here Susanne. I feel like I am approaching from the back. There is truly a more welcome feeling entering a home through the back or side door. Makes you part of the family. The reds and greens blend well.
Nice to see the past being saved.

It certainly does look "beamish" !!! LOL
1. 10/10 in VB because I love timber !!!
2. I would be only too glad to be able to vote 10/10 again on the close-up of the foreground overgrown hut !!!!!
Never enough and never tired of raw timber texture !!!!
Thanks in advance, dear Susanne.
