Another sculpture at the exhebition "Art on a Hill".

"Waaaall", by Lars Vilks, is probably the work of art on the hill that arouses the strongest emotions - many visitors think it is "rubbish", something they could "nail up" themselves, just as good. Other visitors, and they are also many, think "Waaaall" is the best art experience on the hill. So the debate goes on...(I am sorry I don´t know what the name "Waaaall" means, I tried to find out about it, but didn´t find anything)

All comments are most wellcome. I thank you in advance for taking the time. Always greatly appreciated!

Susanne,
Regardless of opinions about the art piece, you have a very fine photograph of it! The side lighting creates some great shadows with the wood. Thad

Well Susanne, it's got great colours & detail, but I'm not a fan of abstract art of that sort, it does look like pile of rubbish to me also. It reminds me of the wood the universarities pile up to have a big bonfire.

You have really done a great job at capturing this though.

I think it's fascinating! The name "waaaal" works in English. Like some one shouting out "fore" in golf. Here is wall shouted out before it tumbles. Wonderful comp showing it at the crest of a hill and overlooking the town.

I really like the artwork because of all the wooden crosses you can see in it Susanne. It tells me the believers can see the beauty and meaning, while the nonbelievers do not have the same experience. An excellent capture.

I think the title is as non-sensical as the sculpture! lol What gets me is that the artist must get lots of money to produce this 'art'. It's a great photo. I love the sky. Too bad that 'thing' is there. lol Just kidding!

This reminds me of the old wooden pallets they used to transport parts on at the Whirlpool Corp. where I worked. Looks like they just heaped a bunch of them in a pile. Very interesting, Susanne...but it a great shot of it.

I love it! When I had to stay home from school because I was sick I used to create toothpick works of art very much like this. I see lots of things in it, including, perhaps, the artist's sense of humor...

What's rubbish to the one, is art to the other. Glad that people have different tastes as if everyone would have the same taste the world would be dull and boring.
Thanks for this excellent capture Susanne. The off-centre position of this artwork is well chosen!

For me the sculpture from yesterday was more beautiful but as a photo this is a very good one. Photo has been taken, that you have to look up to the sculpture but still see the big view behind it.. and that looks great in combination with a beautiful blue sky like this one! Mich

Maybe you should altogether stop trying to figure out whatever the artist is trying to convey...being that you don't live in that individual's skin...and haven't experienced some of the life and times they have endured...and can hardly understand the meaning behind the art...

Possibly you should accept the individual for whomever they are, and their work/inspiration...

But what do I know?

Great shot, art and sea, what more do you want? Just a rhetorical question. LOL I love art and sea, so this combination is unbelievable for me. And, art is always easy from outside, but when you try to create something, you'll see how difficult it is.

When I first looked upon this, I had the feeling of it falling on me and thought that was the why the name "Waaaall" (sort of like fore in golf as a warning). Your photo of the sculpture is wonderful.
