I thought the Male Fern and the ded tree-root looked like a spirit of the forest, can it be one in disguise? :-)

All comments are most welcome. I thank you in advance for taking the time. Always greatly appreciated! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nice composition to reflect the spirit of the forest. All in greens and all kind of shades of green. Of course tree trunks, branches and tree roots dead or alive are part of this wonderful mixture of nature. Very fine photo to picture all of these, Susanne.

Yes, and it could be a sign that there is one nearby. Really clear capture of those ferns, Susanne. If long enough, those branches would make great fairy wands.

In Holland we have the saying: 'De een zijn dood is een ander zijn brood.' It can't be translated literally in English, but has the rather similar meaning as: 'One man's meat is another man's poison.' Think your image makes visual this sayin very well. Good job Susanne.

Back in the day I could tell the difference between a male and female marijuana plant but not the ferns. It must have something to do with their fern count. Excellent shot and I too miss summer.

I like your imagination and eye for detail, Susanne. The fern is beautifully sharp and contrasts nicely with the darker green of the forest. The spirits of nature are everywhere, but it takes a sharp eye, calm mind, and open heart to see and photograph them. Well done!
