On an ovecast grey November day, the orange glowing grasses and moss sets a bit of color. The floating island moves around the lake with the winds and water movements. The tree in the forground is an European Alder.

I found this on Wikipedia about floating islands (you have to copy the link because I still canīt get a link to work here, sorry) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floating_island

All comments are most welcome. I thank you in advance for taking the time. Always greatly appreciated!

Susanne, I see even small trees on the island. It's amazing that the whole island is floating and moves around by the wind.
Very nice capture of this floating phenomenon.

Regards, Cornelius.

Interesting subject, Susanne. Very nicely composed image and lighting is good for such a dull day. I have seen some small floating islands but this is really impressive.

An interesting phenomena, but there is a floating island around here somewhere too that I've heard of. I wouldn't want to step foot on it though. Nicely captured through the tree boughs, Susanne.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Unusual phenomenon of nature that an island floats about. Nice capture with the tree branches in front.
