On an ovecast grey November day, the orange glowing grasses and moss sets a bit of color. The floating island moves around the lake with the winds and water movements. The tree in the forground is an European Alder.

I found this on Wikipedia about floating islands (you have to copy the link because I still canīt get a link to work here, sorry) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floating_island

All comments are most welcome. I thank you in advance for taking the time. Always greatly appreciated!

Susanne, I think it's impossible to stay on this floating island. If not, it seems to me that it will be pretty dangerous there.

Thanks for another fine capture of this remarkable phenomenon.

Regards, Cornelius.

It's neat the way things still want to grow on it's surface, but I am wondering what will become of that little Alder when it grows over time. Interesting image, Susanne. It looks like it might have even been drizzly there.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

I wonder how thick the island is. This looks good, too, Susanne. I love the color of the grasses.

Fascinating information about the floating islands. Though a grey day the warm tones of the grasses are a wonderful contrast to the scene.
