Another macro shot taken at Roma Street. I thought the petals around the centre had a leathery texture. Hope you like yellow ;-)

Yes, the inner petals do look like leather. They also resemble the skin of summer squash.

Wow - so very bright, yellow, and shiny it looks like it could be made of wax! Amazingly vivid color in this. The red center and streaks on some of the petals add to this flower. Very pretty and interesting up close - maybe too much yellow for me though!

Nature is so interesting and bizarre. I really like your close up shots. This, as you say, looks remniscent of leather. But it also looks fresh, like something you can eat. Very yummy looking shot, and beautiful color and detail. I will admit yellow is not one of my color favs, but here you make it come alive and I am forced to like it against my will.
