The main idea of this picture was to promote unity. Volunteers for this picture ranged from South Africa to England. Making the picture negative also ment that all the volunteers had the same skin colour. This was an adjustment made after the original picture was taken in sephia.

I really like this! A nice spin on the "black hand shaking a white hand." I would like to see the original as well. :)
