This was part of an anti-Iraq exhibit on the beach beside Santa Monica Pier. I am not making a statement one way or the other - I just thought it might make for an interesting photo. Each cross represented a life lost in the war. Sorry for the noise.

Hey Shannon,
I like the subject,
The Cross nearest to you really stands out because of the backlit effect, I like that,
But I think, but this might be just me, if that cross was positioned in the same line as the others behind it (I think it was a little closer and to your left, perhaps zooming out a little), it would make for a more stunning composition,

The noise doesn't disturb that much I think, perhaps it might even add to the mood to some viewers, (~8

Nicely done,

Thanks for sharing

Hi Shannon,

Lots of emotion here. The sunset and the low perspective, as well as the slanted horizon (nice touch, btw) all convey a sense of solemnity and grace. To respectfully disagree with Tim's opinion, I like this composition. It seems to isolate the one cross a bit more, as though one were grieving for an individual, who happened to be one of many.

The noise you're referring to seems more like a slight degradation that occurs when light/color levels a pushed a wee bit too far. Was this edited a lot?

Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.

I like the angle. I think I would have tried to keep a little more sand below the front cross. Actually I think the cross is aligned with the row coming from the left so for me the composition works as do the colours. A nice piece of work.
