This pic is of a female ruby-throated hummingbird that kept coming back to our feeder. Of all the pics I took of her this one was uniques as all the others showed the wings in 'stop-action' and this hummer's wings blended in with the blurry surroundings. The tail which was a little behind the body and head is just slightly blurred while the wings seem to have almost dissapeared completely. This pic was taken with a Canon Digital Rebel XTI and a Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM lens. The shutter speed was 1/800s at F/4, ISO 400 (due to darker conditions under trailer awning) and a focal length of 105mm.

Neat pic...and thanks for all the camera/lens/settings information. I am seriously thinking of upgrading to the Rebel. I have copied down your information and that along with your pic will help me get started with the Rebel (if I get it). Difficult subject! But if it weren't for photographers like you none of us would ever get a close look at these little critters. Thanks!

Nice picture. We have the same feeder at our house, although our birds are mostly green and blue down here.
