This is a photo of a red/pink rose that I took earlier this afternoon in my backyard (LaSalle, Ontario, Canada). It was partially sunny but cloudy enough to get a good deep colored pic. It was taken with a Canon Digital Rebel XTI and a Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM lens as well as a Tiffen circular polarizer. It was shot at 1/640s, F/4, ISO 100 and a focal length of 70mm.

I'd have liked a closer crop to put more focus on the rose, but it's lovely and has great clarity!!

But if the world could remain within a frame like a painting on a wall, then I think we would see the beauty. Then we would stand staring in awe at our still lives posed like a bowl of oranges, like a story told by the fault lines and the soil.
The rose is beautiful. I think I might have offcentered it a bit to give it more interest in the composition, and also a bit of light highlighting on the flower through post work.
But it is a lovely flower!
