These spiky fractals looked like weird spiky plants or growth's to me.

Perhaps from an old horror movie..where you slowly get entangled and devoured or trapped alive..and you catch the last glimpse of the starry night beyond.

Continuing horror/Halloween theme..background in Ps.

It makes me think of Star Trek episodes where the starship gets caught in a force-field or something. Very moody. :-).
