I came across a great place recently.
This is the Eceni Study Centre and Permaculture Experience, 'ESCAPE' near the coast down the road from me.
It is a re-construction based on the study and archeology concerning the Eceni tribe of Britain (then known as Albion) from 60 AD.
The Romans called the Eceni tribe the Eceni Magni - the great Eceni. They also had trouble pronouncing their name and called them Iceni..most people know them as Iceni today though they called themselves the Eceni. We Know this from their coins.
The Eceni were the most powerful tribe in Britain (Albion) and claimed the lands from the north sea across to the Cambridge area, the fens and across to the area around Peterborough as we know them today.
Steve and Jo are a lovely couple who have created this study and living history lesson.
More information can be found on their website at ESCAPE/index.html
