I've had another attempt, but with pathetic results :-( I need to think more about the effect I'm trying to achieve, and then about how to set it up. Maybe one day......

I've never seen a soap bubble in the dark before...very cool effect you've given this.:Pat.

Thanks for your comments. I see I never answered the various questions above, although I did reply to everyone individually. It is a photo of a soap bubble, taken by setting the camera up on a tripod, looking across the top of a detergent bottle with black card behind it. Wipe a finger across the top of the bottle, then squeeze gently to blow a bubble. Take pictures with one hand while squeezing with the other 'til the bubble bursts. Repeat until bored, varying the exposure, distance, angle etc. Then select the best shot and adjust the contrast to give a nice dark background and bright colours. Then go out the next day to take some outdoor shots and discover you've got a thin film of detergent all over your lens from each time the bubble burst....
