Just a rather splendid old tree, dozing in the winter sunshine and dreaming of Spring...

Simon-

Thought I might see Harry Potter up there on a branch! This indeed looks like a very old tree, perhaps split by lightning a couple of hundred years ago. Nice capture.

Thanks both. There might be no Harry Potter, Tracy, but we did see an owl in another tree while en route to this place, which is unusual at lunchtime.....

lol - now you've pointed it out, Jason, I can see that it can't be a tree cos it's walking off down the hill. And thanks, Lucy, I'm glad you like it :-)

Hinting at the Whomping Willow p'raps? ;) Love this shot. The tree's got a wonderful branch network & that's a good angle of a shot youve got going there, Simon. Pardon me but what could "Hünross Gwaynten" possibly mean?

This is a great old tree, just begging to be climbed or swung from. Thanks for capturing it!

What a grand ole tree. This the "GrandPappy" of trees. Lots of character. How old do you think this is? Almost more tree than a camera can capture. great fine. Glad you shared it. Good work.
