I think it's pretty hard to make good butterfly shots. They are so damn quick to move away as soon as you just move an inch of a finger... Nice one Simon. I'll try and shoot something similar this summer but I don't think I'll top you... Last summers effort at this motif was a miserable faliure. ^_^ Not one decent photo in 50 to 70 shots... I guess I had a bad day then.
OK. NOW GENTLEMEN! IM NOT AN EXPERİENCED PHOTOGRAPHER BUT,LOOK WHEN LADİES ARE THE SUBJECT U LEAVE IT TO ME OK.YOU MUST NOW HOW TO TALK TO A BUTTERFLY...DO İ ALWAYS HAVE TO TELL IT..SAME FOR CATS THOUGH..DON TRY WİTH TİGERS..AT LEAST IM NOT THEİR TYPE APPERENTLY...L.O.L.
Very nice shot by the way...your framing is nice...and the alignment is very good...top votes... ;)
It's a beautiful shot, Si, and the orange color stands out well against the purple flowers. I had a huge butterfly bush once, along with swarms of gorgeous butterflies and hummingbird moths. And it smelled wonderful on warm spring evenings! Thanks for reminding me.
Good capture of the Tortoiseshell Simon. I had difficulty getting a shot off at one this past weekend. I likethe color flower that it chose to land on, that gave you a nice contrast to work with! Thank you :))
Many thanks to you all - I'm glad you agreed :-) Getting them to stay still is a problem, Klas - we'll have to try Cem's technique of talking to them......
Simon and Klas, I'm looking forward to those shots of you talking to the butterflys. Bringing them flowers as lovely as these should certainly add to their level of submission. ;)-
Wonderful image Si.I hope you had a great summer.I'm looking forward to Fall and the colors.I have reserved vacation time so I can get out here and beat the bushes!!
Peace&Respect Jojo
I know how hard it is to make a descent butterfly picture, they just won't sit still long enough. You have done a great job capturing this one. Well done...my compliments.
Fred.
