There's a Boxing Day tradition around here of sponsored swims for local charities. I don't take part any more, but I do still turn up to support, and to photograph the brave souls (or mad fools) who do. This year, while waiting for the fun to start, I passed the time by taking some pictures rather more suited to caedes.... Porthpean Beach, 9:30 a.m., 26th December '05

I think what I like so much in this shot is the way the sunlight comes in at the left and lays itself over the water! This is a most refreshing photo....with the beautifully rich colours..one can almost feel the day. Thank you for a gorgeous image!!

Hello Pete...Boy, am I glad you did take these pictures 'to pass the time'..it is a great image and I very much like it...the reflected sun starting over the sea...it looks very tempting to just run into those waves...it does'nt look that chilly!...but I can imagine a few 'bits' being shrivelled up....We have the same custom up here in the North - East....but usually after a few 'Broon Ales' from the night before!!! Well done for this one mate...........Bob

This photo is wonderfully composed and the lighting is spot on too. (I especially like the transition between the total white in the top left corner to the black in the right top corner, very nice polarity there.) The bleeding around the edges around the horizon and that far away mountain ridge is detracting some but you know me... (Did you sharpen or is the camera set on extra sharpening?) It's not a major issue, just what keeps it from being National Geographics material and instead sticking to being just a really swell shot. ^_^

Nice ocean shot, I can almost feel the breeze coming off the water.
