Part of a rocky outcrop in the middle of Louisville Swamp, part of the Minnesota River Valley. This area is accessible only in winter when the swamp is frozen.

When I first saw this in the VB I thought it might be a photo of an oil painting. The composition is excellent, the light and shadow emphatic, and the colors are an appealing blend of cool and warm. It *should* be an oil painting. :-) Top marks.
