I just started looking at planes and I felt in love with them, these is not a real shot but of course the pictures were assembled in photoshop with help of Big John or know as BJ a very good friend,a experienced pilot who gave me a few tips as far as how to position the planes to give it a surreal look. I hope you like as much as I do, thanks for everyone's comment on the pic. I also used a beautiful pic from Yenom in the background In the Heavens thanks.

it is a nice shot.. tho one thing confuses me.. the numbering is the same for each plane.. is this more a manipulation?

I did play with a few things and made a change here and there. And to answer your question Bubblecow, I just like it on a frame it gave it more a real pic sense to me at least. Well Hope you like it.

I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings: And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill. That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes. We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not. Yet so the universe was wrought . Thought is another name for fate. Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.

Pretty good job of photoshopping here. As xyccoc mentioned, the tail numbers are all the same (since it is the same plane 3 times). You can see a light spot just below the near wing isn''t quite right, especially on the bottom plane. There is also a highlight on the back of the canopies that doesn't match with the position of the sun. I am not trying to criticize your work, just adding some hopefully constructive criticism :) Overall still a very effective and dramatic image!

Hey msquire try to do all of it at work,I do have a job you know. I know it's not perfect and I'm not trying to win a contest, I just made a simple wallpaper. It's not for everyone if you dont like it dont download it. I know you're not to criticize me but it sure sounds like it

I am a BIG airplane buff ( my dad is one of the leading aeronautical historians in the US, so I'd better know a thing or two about planes AND love them!) and yes, it is a manipulated shot, and yes if you look hard enough you can see some flaws, but I still think it is a great image. It reminds me of the many artist paintings of WWII. Sure you could have should have done this or that, but to be honest, I couldn't do this at all. I can barely even use my photoshop program. So smile. It is a nice image.

I work for a flight school and the pilots/students come by my desk and make so many comments. I even had to show 3 of them how to save it to their desktops so they could display it as well. Very nice work. Just one thing, being that I edit an online virtual series and am a wiz with the red pen, you mispelled the word "Towards" :) Still great job!!!

I made in photoshop, just make a border in black then select "overlay" you should not be able to see it. after that you created "effects" on the border, usually Ii start at shadows and I take from there what ever looks good to me at the time.

Very nice work, nice theme. My only comment is "personalize the planes!" Like, add a random drawing of an angel, or, change the paintjob, or, at the very least, change the number on the tail. But i like this image. very nice.
