Who says that texture shots should be done in b&w? This is a beautiful example of a very fine texture photo that is complimented by color. I, for one, am very glad that you could not turn your back on this shot. Good focus, excellent composition and camera angle.

There is a bit of blur, but I think it only adds to it, giving it some movement and depth. I like the texture too. Very nice post.
