In the northern part of San Diego bay sits the Cabrillo national monument. The area around is a small park dedicated to the spanish explorer who discovered the area. On that site is the Old Point Loma Lighthouse. It was thought to be the perfect spot for a light, but... San Diego is known for its low-lying clouds and daily haze. Another light was built closer to the water and this one was retired. The entry fee is $5 and you can bring lunch and stay all day (9-5). Here is a sunrise shot, I have tried this perspective with one other lighthouse before and really liked it (Hatteras). Consider it my X-mas present to you all!!
