She sat there and preened and stopped, as if posing. I was going to crop, bu the details in the water and the reflections just kind of spoke to me. 300mm, f/6.3, 1/200, 0ev, ISO 200, RAW Set the camera on a rail to stabilize at this focal length. Enjoy!

Very good use of backlighting to emphasize the texture of the feathers. Pretty good for that focal length.

I like this in full view. You're right about the water and the detail in the duck's feathers and such. However, in thumbnail, it loses a lot of its charm.
